León Beheshti captured

real-life moments

during his first

visit to Tehran

after relocating to Germany in 2020.

Together, León and I developed a concept for

a documentary

exploring what is often reffered to as

“underground“ ,

featuring artists in all disciplines.

Fashion Design, Graffiti,

Rap, Dance, Tattoo Art etc.

To reflect the diversity of the content

we chose an equally

eclectic production approach.

The documentary combines

fictional elements, interviews,

real-life footage and excerpts from television

and legal texts to provide context.

“It has to be underground

in order to survive.

At the same time,

its main purpose is to

free itself from being

underground.”
